Description

Vincent Price is best remembered for the menacing presence he brought to classic horror films, but away from the screen he was also a serious art collector, lecturer, traveler and enthusiastic gourmet. His second wife, Mary Grant Price, shared many of those interests, as well. A costume designer and artist, Mary brought her own sense of style and sophistication to their home life and creative projects. Together, Vincent and Mary became known not only as Hollywood figures but also as worldly hosts with a deep appreciation for restaurants, regional cooking and beautifully prepared meals.

The couple’s collaborative publication, A Treasury of Great Recipes, was first published in 1965 by Ampersand Press. More than a simple celebrity cookbook, it featured “famous specialties of the world’s foremost restaurants adapted for the American kitchen.”
