Notes
The Rave-Ups had a more personal connection with John Hughes. Molly Ringwald, a friend and fan of the band, first introduced the band’s name to a wider audience by having "The Rave-Ups" scrawled onto her character's binder in Sixteen Candles.

Ringwald later invited Hughes to see the band perform, leading to their appearance in Pretty in Pink. In the movie, The Rave-Ups perform Rave-Up, Shut-Up and Positively Lost Me.
