It’s no secret that Ferris and Jeanie had two younger siblings whose scenes were cut from the final version of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. But beyond that tiny bit of trivia, not a lot of information has been made available about these two characters. Here is a closer look at Kimberly and Ricky (Todd) Bueller.

Ricky Bueller
In the original FBDO script, the youngest Bueller is named “Todd,” but is referred to as “Ricky” in the novelization of the film. Keeping in mind that Mrs. Bueller is “Joyce” in the script and “Katie” in the book, Ferris’s brother will be referred to here as Ricky for the sake of consistency and clarity.

Ricky Bueller is seven years old [Script Scene 1] and a dependent mama’s boy who “still lets [his] mother pick his clothes” [Novel, Chapter 1]. Often filling the role of Kimberly’s punching bag, Ricky fears the many diseases and bodily mutations he is likely to experience according to his older sister. For example, as Kimberly explains to Ricky, “When you turn ten, your head’s gonna swell up real big like a watermelon and we’re going to have to put you to sleep like they do with a dog.”
Played by Josh Peden, Ricky is seen in a few still shots from deleted scenes but has otherwise been left on the cutting room floor. According to IMDB, Peden’s few other acting credits include a few appearances on The Wonder Years and another on Quantum Leap.
Kimberly Bueller
At twelve years old, Kimberly Bueller is a rebellious pre-teen who is “still dressing like a Madonna clone” [Novel, Chapter 1].

In addition to frequently tormenting her brother as suggested above, Kimberly was once caught “smoking pot in the attic” by her mother [Novel, Chapter 22]. She either sees right through her older brother's scheme for taking the day off or she’s legitimately unconcerned: “If he dies, I got dibs on his stereo.”
Played by Hannah Cutrona, Kimberly Bueller is seen in still shots from deleted scenes; but she also appears in the original FBDO trailer delivering one of her lines suggesting that Ferris may have contracted “syphilitic meningitis.” According to IMDB, you can find Cutrona in a variety of other roles throughout the 80s including appearances on Quantum Leap, My Two Dads, Charles in Charge and a recurring role on Sister Kate.
Other Details on the Deleted Buellers
In the FBDO script [Scene 200], both Kimberly and Ricky are seated at the table inside the back door of the Bueller home enjoying a snack and watching television as Ferris is confronted outside by Mr. Rooney.

This scene is altered in the novelization as the two greet Ferris in his bedroom after he has rushed inside ahead of their parents.
While it seems that every bit of Kimberly and Ricky has been deleted from the final cut of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a few signs of their existence remain in the children’s drawings seen in the Bueller kitchen and the family photo found in Mr. Bueller’s office.
