Several Illinois State Lottery tickets can be seen at 01:38:34 when Ferris’s parents close his bedroom door at the end of the film. There are ten tickets lining the right side of the inside frame to Ferris’s bedroom door.

A closer look comes just over a minute earlier at 01:37:04 as Mr. and Mrs. Bueller are turning the knob to enter Ferris’s bedroom – just before he throws the baseball to silence the snoring sound effect playing through his stereo.

The Pick 3 and Pick 4 games were popular options for those playing the Illinois State Lottery in the mid-1980s. With a jackpot typically around $5000, winning numbers in these games were broadcast live on television.

The ticket measures approximately 3.25” x 2”.
Finding This Item
Although it is obvious that there are multiple tickets on the door frame, the bottom of the screen cuts off the ability to confirm how far down these tickets were present. Viewing the full-screen VHS version of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the shot extends far enough to confirm that the line of tickets stops just below the door knob with a total of ten tickets in all.
